What is the George Foreman Grill?

By now, most people have probably seen a George Foreman press grill or a similar indoor grill. Press grills are countertop indoor grills that heat from the top and bottom and press foods to reduce fat and to add pretty grill marks.

Indoor press grills have become so popular that there are a variety of types out ranging from basic models for one or two people to family models. Some of the newer models have lift out grill plates for easier cleaning and some have add-on surfaces to expand cooking options.

What Can You Cook on a Press Grill?

Many people buy the George Foreman indoor grill to make hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. It’s super easy to put a burger or a boneless chicken breast between the grill plates and press grill meat. In minutes, dinner is ready.

For more flavor, burgers or chicken can be marinated in Italian dressing and then press grilled. Or various spices and seasonings can be sprinkled on the meat to give the meat more pop.

There are many other ways to enjoy a press grill. Strips of chicken along with slices of green peppers and onions can be grilled quickly for fajitas. Sprinkle on a little taco seasoning while the foods are grilling and top off the fajitas with guacamole dip or sour cream.

If you’re a Panini fan, then buy sliced Italian bread. Butter the bread as for grilled cheese sandwiches and put deli meats and cheese between the slices. This takes only a couple of minutes, and it’s much less expensive than going out and buying Panini sandwiches at a restaurant.
