Smart Phone:  If you haven’t joined the world of smart phone users, well, what are you waiting for?  A smart phone is the easiest way to organize, coordinate and manage a busy life.  

Having the ability to check and update my calendar, look up the address of a restaurant and even map my destination all on one little device saves me countless hours of time and frustration.  Check out my five favorite phones for busy moms.

FM Transmitter for MP3 Players:  My car doesn’t have an auxiliary plug for my iPod, but this is the best alternative.  For long trips, or even for just around town, I can listen to anything on my iPod and eliminate the need to burn CD’s.  Of all the wireless transmitters that I’ve tried, this is by far the best.  

Rather than dialing your tuner in search of a compatible frequency on your radio, this transmitter scans to locate the FM frequency by which you’ll have the most clarity.  You cannot go wrong with this Belkin TuneBase.

Portable Wireless Speaker:  I use my portable wireless speaker several times a day.  I take it into the bathroom for the kids’ bath, outside for dinner and drinks with friends and my husband uses it in his workshop.  It’s lightweight, yet sturdy and the sound quality is way above average.

Ear Hook Headphones:  I find the iPod ear buds to be relatively useless.  My ears tend to get sore after wearing them for a while and they don’t stay in place at the gym or out on a run.  What’s the solution?  These fabulous Nike Sport Earhooks that I literally can’t live without.  They are comfortable, they don’t fall out and they have a shorter cord, so you don’t have all of that extra cord hanging during your workout.

Wet Dry Vac:  I am an admitted neat freak when it comes to the interior of my car.  I have three children and a dog riding in a $20,000 mini-van.  That’s not chump change and I want my car to last as long as possible.  Part of keeping my car in tip top shape includes vacuuming up messes before they get ground into the carpeting.  

This wet/dry shop vac eliminates the need to find a gas station vacuum and is more powerful than a Dust Buster.  Spilled Juice?  Not a problem!  Even sand, mud and dirt can’t escape the powerful suction of this vacuum.  And, it’s not just for your car.  I use mine with the attachments to vacuum under beds and behind sofas.  It’s well worth investing in this multi-purpose shop vac.
