This flavorful baked Pork Chop and Potato dish is a family favorite. It’s a great recipe for chilly winter evenings and pairs well with a salad and rolls.
My boys are big on meat and potatoes. I guess it’s a Southern tradition. We do some lighter meals, but they always get more excited when I have what they call “real food.”
One of our favorite comfort dishes is this Baked Pork Chop and Potato recipe. The extra steps with the seasonings and browning give this recipe an extra ump in the flavor department. Then, it’s baked, so everything is good and tender.
An added bonus is that this baked dish smells fabulous, so the whole house is filled with the aroma of a good home cooked meal. I just put it in the oven and grade papers while the boys do homework, and then in less than an hour we have a hot home cooked meal. Yum!

Salisbury Steak is inexpensive to make, since it’s a ground beef dish. It’s also easy to make and tastes great especially with mashed potatoes and peas.
We enjoy Salisbury Steak for a nice comfort meal here at home. It does not take long to make the patties and the gravy, and it feels more like a home cooked meal rather than just doing hamburgers on buns.

Many people shy away from doing seafood on the grill, because it’s something a little different. Folks will tell me, “I’m not sure if I can do it right?
In fact, fish can be one of the easiest of the grilled dishes, but it’s also possible to make a mess trying to grill fish. You need the right kind of fish, the right grill temperature and the right method to get fish to turn out right on the grill.
