I had not planned to jump on the George Foreman press grill bandwagon. But I saw a GF on sale, and I just couldn’t pass it up. I’m sure glad I decided to go ahead and get an indoor grill, because I’ve found so many quick and easy foods that turn out great press grilled.

To start with, I just made hamburgers and chicken breasts on the George Foreman grill. That’s what I’d heard other people talking about press grilling, and the George Foreman is great for quick indoor grilled meats.

I did, of course, jazz up my meats a little. They taste kind of bland if you just put meat in the George Foreman and press and eat. My son noted this when he made some pork chops at college, and I told him he needs to get creative.

If you’re not tailgating before the big ballgame, you are missing out on half the fun. There’s nothing like firing up the tailgate grill and having some burgers, hot dogs or steaks hot off the flames. Before the next ballgame rolls around, pick up a tailgater grill and be ready for some hot fun before kick off.

I teach at a college, and I love tailgating before ballgames. In fact, I am the official School of Business grill chef on homecoming day and crank out more brats and chicken strips than I can count. Normally though I am just tailgating with my family and few friends. I am also helping out others who are having tailgate grilling problems. It’s a small college, and the students know I grill a lot.

After years of tailgating and working “rescue” with students (and adults) who are green at parking lot grilling, I have a few tips to share.

And, really it’s not much different from using the breakfast skillet with grease and egg fragments to mix up Hamburger Helper later for supper. After all grilled food does cook right on those grates.

If you are a charcoal griller, then you probably know that food on a charcoal grill tastes amazing. Put hamburgers or steak over charcoal, and you have a true flavor experience.

Charcoal grilling can be pretty messy though. You are, after all, working with charcoal which can be messy just getting it into the grill and getting it fired up.

If you have been putting off cleaning your charcoal grill, then here are a few tips for making charcoal grill cleaning a little easier and quicker.
