Call it old fashioned, maybe as old as the horse and buggy but this push mower does the job just as it has for many years. These mowers are frugal and no need for gas or electricity. Environmentally safe and you get some needed exercise while mowing the grass.

Great for very small lawns -- and definitely costs nothing to use, except it does take longer than using a gas/electric mower. Like others have mentioned, a small twig will stop it in its tracks -- but it is easy to remove. Also, if this is your only mower it 'forces' you to mow frequently -- because even slightly tall grass is a challenge -- it takes less time to mow twice than once when it is slightly taller. However, the most important consideration is, how uneven is your lawn? (not, how flat is the terrain) My front lawn is rather level and the reel mower works fine. My rear lawn, however, has been trampled/used by dogs -- so the earth is uneven and there are bare spots. This type of lawn is a challenge for the reel mower and it takes a very long time and a lot of effort to mow. If you have a relatively level, small lawn, and you enjoy mowing frequently -- this is the ideal lawn mower for you -- and it's fun to use (and to see the reactions of passer-bys).

Decent mower that doesn't need gas. Ok if you don't have more than a few tenths of an acre to mow. Price was right and saving on no gas even better. Blades rotate well but can get stuck on rocks or wood chip mulch.

I bought this to see if it would be practical to use on my lawn. As long as i consistently keep the lawn mowed every five days it is a breeze. If it gets too long it is a chore to keep it moving. You can enjoy the yard and it is quiet while you mow but it will take longer then an easy push a gas mower.

even though it is manual lawn mower it cuts really god and even easy to push.

I currently use a Scotts mower, also from Sears. But prior to buying that one, I had a Craftsman reel mower. I never loved it. It's very skinny, so it doesn't cut a wide swath. It doesn't do well with weeds or dandelions. As others have noted, a branch will make you stop every time. But it is inexpensive and it's nice not having the gas fumes in your face. Probably decent for a small lawn.

I have owned a reel mower for over 15 years. It lasted a long time. I am now going to purchase a new one. It is a great product.

Did not like this mower, she said it was to hard to push, small sticks would block the wheels and she would have to stop to move them, the only way this would work is if the grass was already short.
