The Craftsman 22 inch Self Propelled Mower Delivers a Good-Looking LawnThe Craftsman 190cc Front Drive Self Propelled Mower delivers versatility and toughness with a value that might just have you thinking lawn care isn't so bad after all. With a 675 Gold Series Briggs & Stratton engine with 190cc's of power, there's no denying this Craftsman mower has the guts to cut down just about any length of grass in its path. No only is the engine potent, but it's easy to start, too, thanks to Ready Start™ and Smooth Start&trade. Ready Start is a system that eliminates the need for priming and choking the engine so all you have to do is pull, which is about 20 percent easier than on other lawn mowers thanks to Smooth Start. The mower pulls its own weight, too, as it cuts its way across your yard with a variable speed gear drive system on the front wheels so it moves at the speed you want it to move - effortlessly. There's no more need to lean into the handle with all your weight to mow up hills or through thick or wet grass which not only makes this Craftsman lawn mower more comfortable, but safer, too.
Even with all of those comfort features, this Craftsman 22 inch Self Propelled Mower gets the job done and done well. Four height positions on the 22 inch high performance deck help you get the ideal look and feel you want on your lawn. Not only do you get to choose how thick and luscious you want your grass, but how to dispose of it as well by bagging, mulching or discharging the clippings. The bagger door automatically stays open to make removing the bag even easier and simply closes with a squeeze of the control ball. Mulching delivers highly important nutrients back to your lawn without the cluttered look of leaving the clippings behind. With so many features on this versatile mower, the hardest thing you might do is put it away - and Craftsman even makes that easy thanks to its folding adjustable handle.
- Featuring a 22-in. high-performance deck, the Craftsman 190cc Front Drive Self Propelled Mower offers excellent bagging, mulching or discharging

Easy to start, clean, with other great features like easy bag removal.
I have a small grass area. Used the mower 7 times before it wouldn't start. Sears and creaftsman what a joke, they don't stand behind there product and didn't care when I took it back.
02/17/2014 I have now used the mower twice. It started perfectly during each use, started multiples times during the 2 separate occasions & started perfectly. Unless you are mowing pure DIRT, GRAVEL, or areas that you really shouldn?t be mowing over, the bag caught almost ALL lawn dust. It even collected almost all dust from a pile of dried leaves.I had 0 problems with grass falling out of the bag. I actually had "good problems" with it becoming FULL & still trying to compact more in. Cleaning this mower is made so simple. Attach a garden hose and it?s clean, on the underside. Blow off or sweep off the top before-hand makes it easier. Sounds like a pain but 1omins each time you use it and it keeps it new. Opening the box at the store A MUST. It doesn?t matter the company these days, there is little care for customer service or quality control. Having just bought my first home and needing to remodel it, I have learned the lesson always check the item in store before you leave, ALWAYS!!!
Sales associate recommend this mower to me and I love it. No more pull start for me. I can never get it started the next season. With this there is no problem. Just put in the charged battery and press a button. Battery is pretty heavy though. I take out the battery when not in use and is stored inside my home not in shed with mower.
Bought in May 2013, I only have .25 acre to cut... Solid mower, EZ to use, very good bagger assembly, self-drive torque is good on flat ground... you gotta give a little pushing for going up hills. All in all with one summer under its belt it did the job and was worth the price. If you have hilly terrain I would look for a stronger self-propelled Craftsman.
Bought this lawn mower since it was reasonably priced. Brought it home, filled it with oil and gas and it started up for the first time on the second pull. Worked like a charm and will see how it does this coming weekend again. Pleasantly surprised with the mower and was happy with the price as we'll.
Purchase this lawn mow 2 weeks ago to replace the old one that stop working. only used once and it work cut the grass with ease love the self-propelled do not have to work as hard and now i don't have to ask my son to cut it now.
It was everything advertised. I used it to mulch a heavy accumulation & it chewed them up. Easy to use with the selfpropelled. Got it on sale @ a great price. I plan on using it for a long time.
I bought this in May and just finished out the first season. This mower always starts on the first pull (when warm) or the second (when cold). It runs well and only bogs down in very heavy grass. The self propelled feature is very handy for going up hills and the mulching feature works beautifully - not just on grass but also on leaves. I don't even bother raking any more. Helpful hint - when you want to go backwards, release the drive lever and nudge the mower forwards just a bit - this will release the front wheels so they turn freely in both directions.
