I am having the most wonderful time cooking and baking with this gas range. The first gas range I have ever had. It is too easy to cook on a gas stove. And the baking is too wonderful also. My new electric stove would not bake anything right no matter how much adjusting I tried. This GE Gas Range with the double ovens makes baking so easy and the gas burners makes sauteing so sweet to cook. I am so thankful for this range!!!

I bought this range before I remodeled my kitchen and I was really confused what to buy. Should I wait and get a 6 burner range and spend a ridiculous amount of money or just buy this one? I had Thanksgiving dinner for 12 in 2011, so I made the plunge. I am glad I did. So far, other than the oven not being level (which is a minor installation issue) the range has been great. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the proof cycle. I had it in my electric GE Profile where I used to live and I am very glad to have it again. I make yogurt in the oven very easily. I also use it for breads. This is the first time I had double ovens and that is really great. I like the upper oven more for casseroles and broiling but I do use them both. I use the central griddle often for grilled cheese, pancakes and hashbrowns. The only thing that I noticed that they could improve is the knobs. Both my cleaning lady and I have accidentally turned on the gas accidentally when we leaned over to clean something above (like the microwave). I could also use an easier to use website for finding add on or replacement products.

We Chose GE because of our great experience with our old XL44. Not disappointed! The small oven is great for everyday use. I don't feel like it's an energy hog for small jobs. Until you get used to the smaller oven height, be careful not to burn your fingers reaching in to check or grab food. Slide the rack out instead. My only concern is with the knobs. Twice I've accidentally leaned on a knob and ignited a burner - barely escaping a dish towel fire. Also had this happen to a friend who was admiring my new kitchen. The controls need to have a little more resistance built into them to make them safer.

When we first used the top oven, the metal heat shield above the oven door isn't mounted well and sags/bows down to the point where it is catching on the top of the oven door when opening and closing the door. This is occurring after the oven heats up and expands the shield. The other major complaint is when the oven racks are level, the range surface top is not. We checked other Profile models on display and this particular model was the only one that has this issue. We were really disappointed to encounter these types of problems from a GE product. Our previous gas range was a much lower end GE model, and we didn't have these types of problems this much more expensive model does. For what we paid for this new one, we didn't feel we received the quality or value we had expected from GE. This range has potential to be an excellent product if GE corrects the problems we encountered. NOTE: We found other reviews noting these same two problems. As far as what we like, the power boil burner feature works well, and the ability to bake in both ovens at different temps is a plus. The smaller top oven is much more energy efficient to use for pizzas and casseroles and was impressed with the short time it took to preheat. The lower convection oven also worked well when it was used and we liked that the convection mode automatically reduced the baking temperature entered by 25 degrees.

Everyone that has seen our new kitchen absolutely loves this range. I love that it has two ovens. One is for quick and every day use, the other I use for all sorts of things from roasting turkeys to quick convection roasting of chickens and other things I want to have done quickly. I love the center burner for the griddle and grill features. I've roasted peppers and cooked brats on the grill and for winter grilling inside you can't beat it! The grates for the gas top are super high quality and durable. It's a beautiful appliance to have at a fraction of what commercial ranges cost.

This range has everything needed for the serious home cook. I love this range and its convection oven. I make breads using the convection oven and they turn out evenly baked. The timer is so helpful when you need dough to set or for anything else. It is so easy to clean and it is worth every penny..

On the stovetop, I absolutely love the power boil; it really makes a huge differene in the amount of time it takes to cook things. The simmer option is wonderful for melting butter and making Roux's. The smaller upper oven has been the perfect size to make pizzas, casseroles, broiling nachos, warming tortillas, baking potatoes, and acts as the perfect warming drawer. It's great not having to heat an entire oven to do theses things. I love having the convection oven low so I can lift heavier things like turkeys and hams out and up versus having to bring big hot heavy pans toward me from above. There are options to choose from such as the Sabbath mode with this oven; you just have to choose it.
