Each 1 cup (28 g) serving provides these percentages of the GDA on a 2,000 calorie diet. 110 calories: 6%; 0.5 g total fat: 1%; 135 mg sodium: 6%; 12 g sugars (No percentage for sugar is given since % DV for sugars has not been established. The Institute of Medicine suggests that less than 25% of daily calories come from added sugars to help minimize the consumption of foods with empty calories (IOM, 2002-2005). For a 2000 calorie diet, this would equal 125 g of added sugar per day); 500 IU vitamin A: 10%; 15 mg vitamin C: 25%. Exchange: 1-1/2 carbohydrates.
