We've had this fridge for over 6 months now and so far, we've liked it. We really like the fridge on top and freezer on bottom. It's a bit noisy. Not when it's running, but the ice maker is SO loud when it's filling up that we literally can't hear our TV while it's filling will water. The only other downside to this particular model is that you really have to make sure that the drawer in the freezer is pushed ALL the way back. Sometimes if you have things on the shelf in the freezer, they'll fall behind the shelf and tuck behind the back of the drawer and when you go to shut the door it seems like it's shut, but it actually never seals. Twice I have gotten up in the morning to discover that the freezer had been slightly opened ALL night. Because of this we have frost and ice build up in the freezer now (grrrr!). Now I really make sure we always are aware of things falling behind. Because of this little glitch I kind of wish I would have spent the extra couple hundred bucks and got the drawer. We like the ice maker and it keeps up with our demand on it pretty well. We've had a couple parties and got extra bags of ice and actually didn't need them. All-in-all it's been a good fridge. Just last night it started making a grinding sound and when I called Sears service they said it could just be an ice cube stuck in the ice maker, but to me ti sounds like grinding in the fan/motor... the verdicts still out on what exactly it is, so our review is still kind of up in the air, but so far, so good.
POOR FREEZER DESIGN
The freezer shelves are hard to slide out. At the same time, if you pull the shelves out far enough to see what is in the freezer, the shelves fall off! For this reason, it is also difficult to access the ice cube tub. If you are planning on purchasing a bottom freezer refrigerator, I highly recommend drawer freezers rather than this model's side freezer door.
GOOD REFRIGERATOR
The refrigerator is nice. The vegetable and fruit bins are spacious and slide nicely. Two pull-out shelves are a conventient feature.
The ice maker is noisy, however this is typical with bottom freezer refrigerators.
DAMAGED DURING INSTALLATION
The installers dented and scratched the fridge severely in multiple places by not taking their time when carring it into the house. There was also a scratch on the freezer door that appeared to be covered up with appliance paint (albeit not well). Dirt and grease residue on the interior of the fridge and scuff marks and scratches on the fruit and vegetable drawers were disappointing.
Due to the condition of the product and poor freezer design, I choose to return the product.

I love it but I return it back because first it was the wrong color that by mistake I order, since I am a short person 4"9 tall, the top shelves were to high for me to reach specially the back of the top shelf, if I lower the top shelf then I did not have enough room for my food.

delivery people removed handles to get unit into house. I noticed a dent in the freezer door immediately. Delivery person said 'dont worry handle will cover it'. It did, but after they left, I noticed a dent where the fridge handle WAS (they moved the handle to the other side). The fridge handle is installed by aligning it up on two bolts then sliding it down. The compressor sounds like a jet engine when starting up. Also when you close the door, the engine shuts down and starts back up upon closing it. I just got rid of a 24 year old fridge. This one is NO quieter, if not louder. I have been waiting for three days for the ice to fill. I live in a large home and can hear the ice maker dumping ice from the upstairs, other side of my home. It's very loud. The freezer has a cheap pull out basket. It's OK. Overall size of fridge is very nice. SHAME on Sears for not looking into the noise of this unit with so many bad reviews.

This was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I have only had this about 3 1/2 months. I am currently waiting for repair number 5 to fix the same issue. The freezer keeps forming ice internally and around the icemaker to the point that it has to fight againist itself to dump ice. The second repairman discovered that it is missing factory insulation in the rear freezer panel. I have had blinking lights top and bottom. Freezer selve sides have been replaced due to them trying to pull away from the sides. The icemaker takes a vacation from making ice about every other day.It has now started to make a really strange and scary noise on occasion that I can not pinpoint it's location within the refrigerator. Parts that have been replaced are piling up on my dining room table and more parts are due to arrive any day now. I have been begging to replace it with a different model for weeks and FINALLY I am waiting for my new 1 which is on back order. I am to the point that I fear this machine.

I purchased this the last part of June and within 4-5 weeks had to call for repair of the icemaker. The repair man already knew what the problem was before arriving due to the high demand for repair. Water is spraying into the freezer and forming ice on a third of the compartment from the back to mid-front. You could hear the strain on the icemaker when it tried to fight againist the ice formations while trying to dump ice. I am currently without an icemaker while waiting on parts :( Sears was already aware of this problem when they sold it to me. Too sad since this is the 2nd fridge I purchased from them in the last decade that they knew had problems. RUN......

Sounds like your defrost temp is getting to hi. change out bi metal or thermister. also could be gettin migration of moist air thru defrost drain. earlier frig would get a rubber flapper installed on drain. This would allow condensate drain without moisture entering. X sears service tech. good luck

I love the roominess of this frig. I had a side by side Kenmore for 17 years before this new one. The only problem so far is the frig door handle is loose, poor installing on the delivery guy's part. Love the freezer on the bottom!!

Have had this refrigerator approx 8 months. It is so loud with the ice maker running we think someone is in the kitchen doing dishes! Does get cold enough but is hard to see contents in the shelves and doors. Would not buy this model next time.

I love it! There is so much more refrigerator room with the top. The freezer is a good size also but I have a deep freeze as well so that wasn't a main reason for purchasing. I bought the fridge at the Sears Outlet and was a little worried at first becasue it was used but it does a great job and I would recommend it to anyone.

I love the lower freezer with the built in ice cube maker. The adjuestable shelves in the refrig. are very helpful in making room for odd shaped items. Place the reverable door is good because my kitchen was sent up in the total other direction. I would purchase other kenmore items in the future.
