Purchased this filter housing and Cartridges about 6 years ago. I hooked it up to my well outside and put a plastic bucket over top of it. Works great and filters the water great. I just hope Sears continues selling these cartridges. Good product, works great for an inexpensive filter.

Use the 5 micron filter for best results. I change the filter every 3 months regardless of the recommendation. We have well water and the filter is quite brown after three months, so well worth the money to change it every three months. We have no residue or discoloration in our tub or sink. Best place to check how well a filter works is where the water sits for a while, and that is in the toilet bowl holding tank. Ours is as clean as the day we had it installed thanks to the 5 micron Deluxe Sediment filter.

We used filters from many places (including GE filters from **********) and they all failed to perform basic particulate filtering of our well water. The other 5 micron filters we've tried either passed way too many particles or restricted flow way too much. These filters from Sears do the job perfectly and flow great. They are worth every penny!

The Kenmore Deluxe Sediment Filter works great. After a lightening strike to my well cap caused a large amount of rust and sediment to enter into my well, I attached a Kenmore whole house filter. These replacement filters do a great job in removing the rust and sediment so my water is clear and clean to drink. I would recommend this filter.
