I have had this Mp3 player for less than a year. The features on it are good, but the battery life sucks especially if you are like me and use it A LOT. Since i like to read the Cons before the Pros, I'm going to write my review that way.
CONS:
The biggest issue I had with this MP3 player is the battery life. After a couple of months of owning this player, the battery would not hold a charge for very long. When i first bought this mp3 player, the battery would last for hours, but the more i used it, the battery life went from lasting several hours to barely holding a charge for more than an hour. Because the battery would not hold a charge i eventually had to bring a back up mp3 player with me when i was on the go.
The other problem i could find is that the speaker was weak in volume, but since i didn't use the speaker that much, it didn't bother me.
Pros:
Songs and Videos are easy to input into the player. Sound is good through headphones only. Videos and Photos come in clear as long as your not watching or viewing in sunlight. The widescreen is great for watching video and viewing photos. The SD slot is an awesome feature; you can turn a 4G mp3 into a 12G which for the price is great!
All in All its a good MP3 player as long as you DON'T USE IT ALL THE TIME. If it weren't for the battery issue, I would have given this at least a 4 out of a 5 star rating, but since i'm an avid mp3 user, I cannot rate it above average just because of the lack of battery life.
If you do not use your mp3 player all the time, I would recommend this product.
If you do use your mp3 player a lot, I would not recommend this product.

Probably the best MP3 / video mini player under $50. I've used it nearly every day for 3 years now, and have no problems at all with it. It still holds a good charge..... way longer than an i-pod by the way. It will run 4+ hours on a charge in MP3 mode. I like the fact that it's not touchscreen. I can reach into my shirt pocket and adjust the volume or advance the track without having to look at the unit, can't do that on a touchscreen. It's a perfect size. Not too big for a pocket, or too small to see video. Metal housing has held up well. I don't know about the last reviewers comments after dropping the player, I've dropped mine several times, and it still works fine. I like all the EQ settings for audio. It has a 3D spatial EQ setting with a little echo which sounds like an auditorium. I really like the little player, and friends of mine with i-pod nanos are jealous of the screen size, and straight forward file transfer. (If you plug an i-pod into a different computer, you can lose all your music when it auto-syncs).

I bought my Trio V430 December 2009 & it quit working January 2011. The description online mentioned it was a touchscreen, which is not true. I was disappointed when it was shipped to my home, to find out it wasn't a touchscreen but, for the price, I decided to keep it. It is easy to download music onto it & its simple to use. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it.

These little devices are great for someone who doesn't want to invest a few hundred dollars in an Apple iPod or Microsoft Zune HD gadget. I like them because they can support up to an 8gb miniSD card. So the 4gb internal memory is not so great, but if you add the external memory, then you get a 12gb device for under $50. They are fragile, I have a few of them and you do need to protect the screen all the time. Buy an average GPS pouch as well as a "cut-to-size" screen protector and you'll be able to save this device from a scratches to the screen. The FM radio and built in speaker are also good add-ons as well. Cons: This device runs in WAV format for video and if you are used to iTunes, it converts into MP4. You'll have to find a program that will do this conversion for you or convert your library into WAV. You can locate a lot of free conversion programs on the internet and the only trouble would be that it is time consuming and you'll have to deal with multiple formats. Sometimes in the video, the voice will not be synced with the image, you need to know how to slow the bit rate down...an option in most conversion programs. If this all sounds "foreign" to you, probably should stick with a more user friendly (eg...iPod) device.

This was the worst MP3 player ever! The day i got it i thought it was pretty cool. but the next day it fell of the counter and broke...so i went and got a new one. no big deal. but i left it in the car that night when i went to my grandma's house for christmas. when i came out there was another crack on the screen. It was in the car for about two hours. and there was a crack on the screen. I don't know how it got there but there was a crack. This MP3 player will not live if u drop it once or leave it out in the cold. My ipod touch is way better. I only had those for about a day each and they broke. i would suggest spending $200 and get an Ipod touch or like $150 for a nano then spend $50 for this peice of junk. Ipods can do all the stuff this one can do and more. Plus you can't hook up to the internet with it.
