"I Am" Traditional....The first, and one of the many descriptions of myself. I like comfort and style, and I find plenty of this combination in my New Balance 608V2 shoe. I don't really need or want status symbol streaks or wild neon colors. I have no need for secret pockets, designed to hold who know's what and I don't want laces that are designed to be left un-tied. I avoid air-ride suspension with compression spring shocks that will catapult me beyond. I don't want shoes that exercise my tail, or define my calves to sleek perfection.
I rid myself of classic television hyped shoes that never fit like they should, because the manufacturer's concentrated cost and hype was exorbitantly high, justified to provide some emblem that is held in high esteem by the masses. These hyped-shoes are average in my honest opinion and this is why I rated the New Balance 608V2 shoe as "above average".
The shoes fit!
Wearing the New Balance 608V2, my toes are not pinched or confined and my arches don't ache. They don't feel like I'm walking on top of a tennis ball, or teetering front to back on a hinged balancing board. The soles provide good traction where ever I go, and although I'm not a runner, I do walk all day.
If I can walk through the mall without thinking about my feet or if I can sit back in my recliner while forgetting my shoes are still on.....
then shoe is a success, and I'll come back for more!
I've been wearing New Balance 608's for years and these new 608V2 shoes are nowhere near as comfortable as the old ones. A few minutes walking around the store was enough to convince me that it's time to find a new preferred brand. There is absolutely no arch support and the material feels like stiff cardboard. Sad. I'd guess there was some serious cost cutting involved in the design and manufacture.

It seems like I have been wearing New Balance shoes forever, like since way back in the 80's before they had any brand recognition. These shoes are poor quality compared to the old 608's. Comfortable when new, but after wearing them daily for couple of months that comfort is totally gone. Three pairs in a row now have developed an annoying squeak for every step. I am tired of throwing away shoes that still look fairly new. I have lost faith in my favorite shoe. WILL NEVER BUY THESE AGAIN!!!

I wear orthotics, so high quality sneakers are a must. The New Balance 608V2 (now in version 3) have helped me to walk pain free. The inner soles are not glued in, so they're great for orthotic users, they come in multiple widths and in half sizes. Excellent for sports, walking or just on your feet for many hours, New Balance 608V3 is for you. Perfect fit and function. You feet are not a good place to skimp, wear these and walk easier. I've depended on them for many, many years. As you walk, feel like you're propelled forward. These sneakers are designed, not just assembled. Find your perfect fit.

I've bought NB shoes for the past 10 years on the recommendation from a podiatrist that I worked for, and they have always been good general purpose run-abouts. I did notice that the inserts are getting pretty cheap, and will have to change them out. Good product for the money.

The new 608v2 does not have the same quality standard as the original. The original 608 was comfortable, durable and was my everyday shoe. The 608v2 is stiff and less comfortable, arch support is not as good. I want the original back.
