I lost the remote to my DVD player and needed something simple and compact. This remote works very well! It was seriously easy to program to operate my DVD. In fact, it was so simple that I didn't think it was really programmed and went through the paces again to make sure! I don't know if ease of use varies by brand but all of my electronics are long-standing brands (Magnavox, RCA, etc.). The codes for them worked immediately.
