This camera is great for Youtube, or home videos. I've played with it a little bit and it is a cool little camera. I haven't used a Flip camera so I can't make any comparisons there. Some nice features of the camera is it standard-def, 720 30p, 720 60p, and 1080 30p. A plus is the option between SD/SDHC and Memory Stick cards. I prefer SDHC mainly because I can find them a lot cheaper than Sony's Memory Stick. When recording one of the best settings for me is 720 60p. I haven't done any recording in low light, but I would imagine it look decent not great though. The lens rotates so you'd be able to record yourself and also see yourself on screen while you do so. The camera feels good in the hand, it doesn't feel like cheap plastic. One small issue I have with the camera is it has a built in usb arm, and it comes it a usb extension cable but the cable is 5 inches at best so I have to hold the camera in my hand while I export my videos Overall this camera is a good buy.
