HE Stands for high efficiency, the next generation of washers that save water and energy. there are 2 types of HE washers, front and top loading (Tide HE is formulated for all high efficiency washers). HE washers are different from traditional machines. Since HE washers work differently, they require a specially designed detergent like Tide HE. Using traditional detergent in an HE washer can cause excess suds. Excess suds could lead to washer problems. And just using a smaller dose won't solve the problem. Tide HE is a special low-sudsing formula. Only the use of an HE detergent ensures the proper performance of you washer. Since HE washers use less water to clean, the water is dirtier. Tide HE has special dirt-capturing ingredients to suspend dirt and dyes in the water, which helps keep them from redepositing on your clean laundry. Contains no phosphate.
Directions: For large loads, fill to line 2. For medium loads, fill to line 1. Use more for heavily soiled loads. Add clothes, pour into dispenser, start washer.Ingredients: Ingredients Include Biodegradable Surfactants (Anionic and Nonionic) and Enzymes.

Tide is very good, one of the better brands and this product will last through tons of loads, I mean this thing is HUGE. Liquids seem to be a waste when you compare how much water is needed to dilute the actual detergent.
Clothing smells fresh and feels wonderful, I pretty much was everything in this, other than fine delicates which need dry cleaning or hand washing. Sheets, towels and jeans come out pristine; I will definitely keep using this for as long as it's this good.

Tide works wonders. I usually pair with Shout if have bad stains. But Tide leaves my clothes smelling good and refreshing. My favorite is lavender. Can last a couple months for one person.
