According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air quality is a serious health concern, especially for those who suffer with allergies, asthma and other respiratory illnesses. Without proper filtration, indoor air quality can actually be worse than the air you breathe outdoors. What makes our filter better? VitalAir filters have a superior design with more dust-collecting surface without compromising airflow and energy consumption. The patented VitalAir nonwoven filter materials are electrostatically charged to attract and trap finer airborne particles. Particle Removal Comparison: VitalAir Ultra 1500: 50% more than competitive filters. VitalAir removes more common household particles than competitive filters. Constructed with a recyclable plastic frame, VitalAir filters are more durable and resistant to humidity than competitive filters made with ordinary cardboard paper frames. The VitalAir plastic frame retains sufficient flexibility for easy installation. What is MERV? MERV represents the minimum efficiency reporting value of the filter. MERV is based on a test standard established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The higher the MERV number, the better a filter performs at trapping airborne particles and allergens. VitalAir filters' MERV ratings are tested at 295 feet per minute (fpm) air velocity. Filter efficiencies are measured in three particle size ranges from 03 to 10 microns. VitalAir Model Ultra 1500 filters are 93% effective in capturing particles and allergens larger than 3 microns, such as the majority of household dust, pollens, mold spores, and dust mites. Directions: Installation: Caution: Turn off your heating and air-conditioning unit before installation. 1. Carefully remove your new VitalAir filter from the package. 2. Remove and dispose of your old filter by placing it in the plastic bag. Dispose of properly. 3. Install your new VitalAir filter, making sure the arrow on the side of the filter frame matches the direction of the airflow. 4. Record the replacement date on the sticker provided and apply in a visible location.
